Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is currently the president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California, grew up with an affluent life. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and was later a part owner of the Lakers along with other sports companies. After her parents divorced in 1972, she began to feel in a sense of being abandoned emotionally. In 1972, at age 19 she started working for the family's business. Then she founded the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was the President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013, and the control for the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling the same vote. The Lakers named her president. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its headquarter in Los Angeles.
